About the Section

In 1992 a group of enthusiasts decided to form an official Section of the MZ Riders Club to cover Central and Southern Scotland as this area, although having a fairly large presence, did not have an official voice in the running of the National Club. This eventually became the South of Scotland Section, and since those early days it has grown steadily, until it is now one of the clubs more active sections with a current membership standing at around 50.

The Section offers several benefits and services to its members, not least of which is the monthly newsletter ‘Thistledown’, to which you are encouraged to subscribe (see the relevant page for more details). We hold monthly meetings throughout the region, and each year sees us host the popular MZ Scottish Rally. In years gone by we have also played host to the main MZ National Rally, first at Applecross, Wester Ross in 1995 and at then at Lochawe, Argyle in 2000.

Should you be interested in finding out more about the Section you can contact me or the current Section Rep., whose contact details are on the Meetings page, or why not just come along and see for yourself.

The South of Scotland Section is an independent regional section of the MZ Riders Club and is not a club in its own right. Full membership of the MZ Riders Club confers automatic membership of the South of Scotland Section for those living in the Section's catchment area, which is Southern & Central Scotland.

To qualify to join the MZ Riders Club as a full member you must (obviously) own or have an interest in MZ motorcycles of some sort. To apply for membership visit the main MZ Riders Club website and download the current membership form.

If you don't yet own an MZ but would like to see what the Section or the MZ Riders Club has to offer, you can still attend any of our regular monthly meetings, rallies and/or subscribe to the Section Newsletter. Hopefully you will become a full club member in the fullness of time.
