Clubs

MZ Riders Club -The National MZ Club website [MZ Regalia - Buy your Club merchandise here]

Skorpion Owners Group - Scottish (UK) site for owners of Skorpions, featuring stories, pictures and hints & tips.

Skorpion Owners Club - German site for owners of Skorpions, featuring loads of race-related stuff.

MZ Sidecar Racing Club - Lunatics on MZ racing sidecars on the net.

Cossack Owners Club - While making a big thing out of not being an ‘internet club’, the COC have finally discovered the benefits of the web.

National Association of Bikers with a Disability - a charity to help keep disabled bikers on the road by offering financial incentives to modify machines.

Useful Contacts

Simson Shop - UK spares supplier for Simson S50, S51, S70 (roadster and enduro models).

MZ Germany (German & English) - Official website for the German MZ factory. Focus is now very much on the 4-stroke models.

Vehicle Wiring Products - A company whose name says it all. Essential for those re-wiring projects.

Khyam Tents - Excellent tents for going away camping.

Alt-berg Boots - Superior quality bike & walking boots.

Other Sites

AutoSoviet - A site which covers a whole host of eastern block cars and bikes in great detail.

Christian's Dneprpage - If you don’t like sidecar outfits/Russian bikes then I’d avoid this site.  I think that it’s great. Actually, talking of sidecars do you know that in Norfolk, Virginia, it's illegal to have sex while riding in a motorcycle sidecar? I shall try to keep that in mind if ever I’m over in the USA.

Holland Motor Klassiek - Dinant Dekker’s Dutch MZ club site. Loads of pictures.

Sascha's Homepage - we met Sascha at Emmenrausch 2002. He has a fondness for the military look and runs a TS250 with sidecar.

MZ-Intruder - Johan's site includes rat bikes and MZ sidecars..

3-Wheelers - A site devoted to small three-wheelers from around the world.

Rokon Motorcycles - A very unusual two-wheel drive machine. The company responsible also make a version for the military - see Here

Road Trips

MZ on Tour - Think that going to Applecross on your MZ is a bit of an adventure? Then you should check out this guy’s site. Hendrik Merkel from Jena, in Germany has been to nearly every country in Europe on his MZ. Take a look at his trip around Iceland by MZ.

Motorcycle Misadventures - The diary of a woman called Carla King who travelled through China on a CJ, as well as travelling across America on a Ural and other places such as India and Italy. Her next trip is through Switzerland, hopefully, on a Condor (the Swiss version of the BMW R71, which spawned the Ural & the CJ, amongst others)  and American Borders

Other Stuff

Ostalgia Products - A site for all those hard to find products from the former DDR.

Shelters Unlimited - For those of you who want a ‘proper’ tent. They're a bit pricey and, anyway, how would you get one on the bike?

Pod Caravans - For those of you who don’t like ‘roughing it’ while camping can I recommend one of the little beauties. Probably too much for an ETZ 251 to handle, you might have to go for the ETZ301.

American Angst - A site dedicated to loathing Hardly Dangerous Motorcycles and the idiots who ride them. How can you not love this site? Cool t-shirts, too.

Just Plain Weird

Man In The Shed - Take a gander at this and the next time that the wife complains that you spend too much time in the garage/shed show her this.

Cheese Racing - This site makes your average MZ riders look perfectly sane by comparison. Take a look at these weirdos and give yourself dangerous ideas for the next time you have a barbecue -  www.cheeseracing.org/

Tail Gunner Exhausts - Don’t forget to check out the video of this in operation.
