Rally Award Scheme

Well, we've gone and done it again. The South of Scotland Section have retained the Rally Award Scheme Section Trophy. That makes it three years in a row that we have collected the the award for most active section in the club (do we get to keep it like the World Cup?). In fact, looking at the award (see picture) it seems to have been renamed the ‘South of Scotland Section Award’, which I think is pretty accurate of the organisers, but I’m sure that it will annoy some out there. Our nearest rivals this time were the North Wales & Cheshire Section.

I picked up a Gold award and Bronze awards went to Dave, Keith, Carole, Norman and Terry. For a change, instead of badges these are actual medals dangling from green and white ribbons. We resembled a rather strange Olympic team when we wore them in the pub. Made the locals stare a bit.

Once again, a very successful year for what is, truth be told, a fairly small section. My Congratulations to all who took part.

Remember though, the section is only as good as you make it - if you don’t go to the meetings then your area rep will have wasted his time arranging them. If you want your section to do well again in the 2007/8 Rally Award Scheme you need to attend the Rallies, or events like IFA Day, take your form with you, get it signed, then send it in at year's end.

For those of you new to the Section or who have not taken part in the Rally Award Scheme before, should you wish to have a stab at an award for this year then check out the rules below and/or drop me a line and I can explain it in more detail and provide you with a, application form.

The Rally Award Scheme is run for the benefit of MZ Riders Club members who attend club events during the course of the year.

The general rules under which the scheme is run are pretty straightforward and I have included them Here.
